How Many Hymns?
by Helen Kinnett.

Come now is the time to worship, here,

Knowing You Jesus, I have nothing to fear,

I vow to thee my country, loyal,

You fashioned Adam from the soil,

Faithful one, so unchanging, true,

I believe in Jesus, do you?

For the beauty of the earth,

Jesus a treasure of priceless worth,

Dear Lord and Father of mankind,

By God’s love I was designed,

Only a boy named David, a child’s touch,

Jesus loves the little children, so, so much,

To God be the glory,

Let faith be our story,

He’s got the whole world in His hands,

O church of God expand,

Amazing grace, my chains are gone,

Read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,

O love that wilt not let me go,

Faith as small as a mustard seed will overflow,

This little light of mine,

I’m gonna let it shine, Jesus shine,

In Christ alone,

May love be known,

His banner over me is love,

Peace, perfect peace, like a dove,

I heard the voice of Jesus say,

Count your blessings every day,

Give thanks to the Lord, our God and king,

Jesus’ love is very wonderful, such a wonderful thing,

O be careful little eyes what you see,

Yes, Jesus loves me,

The day thou gavest Lord has ended,

Your love for me, vast and splendid,

Looking in the sky,

Joy is the flag flown high,

Trust and obey,

Share fellowship, pray,

Bless the Lord, O my soul,

Loving Jesus, makes us whole,

There is a hope that stands the test of time,

Faith is not easy, it’s a mountain to climb,

Filled with compassion, never despair,

Surrounded by grace, God’s always there,

What a friend we have in Jesus,

Rock of ages, He never leaves us,

I will sing the wondrous story,

Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory,

Cornerstone,

Never alone,

Abide with me,

In Gethsemane,

All things bright and beautiful,

You died for me, above all,

Bringing in the sheaves,

The promise of God for whoever believes,

Have you guessed yet that this poem has a theme?

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam,

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want,

Streams of living water flow from God the fount,

As the deer pants for the water,

Giving it all to You, before the altar,

How great thou art,

Give me joy in my heart,

How great is our God, sing with me,

Blessed be the name of the Lord, constant is He,

Jesus Christ is waiting,

Life anew, anticipating,

For Christ the king, make way, make way,

I’ve got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart, today,

He who would valiant be,

Will always be the dentist’s hymn to me!

In my heart there rings a melody, with heaven’s harmony,

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know, sets me free,

Wonderful, wonderful, Jesus is to me,

I rest in Him, Jesus Christ the apple tree,

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine,

Break bread together, drink the new wine,

Guide me O thou great Jehovah, feed me ‘til I want no more,

God, my lighthouse, You will carry me, carry me safe to shore,

Siyahamba, ekukanyen, kwenkhos,

Cwm Rhonnda, O am aros,

Give thanks with a grateful heart and can it be,

That great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me,

Light of the world, immortal,

Invisible, heaven’s portal,

Love divine, all loves excelling,

The old, old stories of Jesus telling,

Go forth and tell, O church of Christ awake,

So, how many hymns and choruses does that make?
