Be Still
Whether or weather the clouds are grey,
God is with us, in the peace of a new day,
But how can we achieve earthly peace?
How can we know his presence, when battles don't cease?
God is love, humans are war,
Don't disrespect others and kill no more,
Whether we sink or overcome the battles of life,
God is in the calm, not in the strife,
Trusting God to bring us safe to shore,
Praise his name, worship, adore.
God is not in the raging wind, blowing,
God is in the complete stillness, showing,
That anger and rage, helps care for no one,
God is the blessing, in the soft shining sun,
God is not in the pouring rain,
God is in the gentleness, when the storm is over again,
God is in the restful calm,
God is healing, he is our balm,
God is not in the cloudburst, causing us to drown,
God is in the forgiveness, reigning down,
God is in each hope filled sunlit ray,
God is with us, he'll never go away,
God is not in the fierce, spiked lightning,
Man's disobedience, that's what is frightening,
God is in the unclouded light of dawn,
That spreads a gentle warmth, on an early morn.
God is not in the harsh hailstorm, pounding,
God is in the serenity, his love is surrounding,
Watching over us, guiding us every day,
The decision is ours, to fight, or fairly play.
God is not in the loud thunderbolt, reverberating,
God is in the peaceful kingdom that he is creating,
Heaven on earth, inviting us in,
So why do we choose, to continue to sin?
God is not in the trembling earthquake,
Remember in the quiet, God will never forsake,
God is not in disaster and greed,
God is the giver, supplying all we need.
Whatever the weather tries to hide,
The glory of God is always present in the skies,
If we choose not to listen, we only have ourselves to blame,
God is not indifferent, he treats everyone the same.
Whether or weather, the clouds are grey,
God is with us in the hopeful peace of each new day,
So be still and know God today,
Be still and listen for his voice when you pray.
When in life’s turmoil, you feel tempted and are suffering a lot,
Looking for God in the storm? that's just where he is not,
So when your mind is worried and filled with endless doubt,
You'll find stillness and calm, is what God is about.
Try to avoid causing a tempestuous storm; just be kind,
Then maybe in the quiet tranquility, you will find,
God is with us, he is always there,
God is gentleness, God is care.
Don't be tempted to create a fuss and ado,
Remember, responsibility for spreading peace, starts with you,
Don't blame others, don't cause war,
Don't be cruel, don't hate or abhor,
Don't blame God for the wrong things done by you,
Be kind and compassionate in all that you do.
Don't look for God in war and discrimination, conflict don't seek,
Peace is everlasting and strong; the peace of God is not weak,
When the storm is over and the peace reigns again,
God gives us a sign, in the sky and its meaning is plain,
God is in the beautiful, arching rainbow,
So his promise of peace, we all can know.
Treat others as you want to be treated,
Then God's Kingdom on earth is completed.
Whether or weather the clouds are grey,
God is with us, in the peace of a new day,
So remember that God is not in the stormy weather,
God is in the silence, when we pray together.
